Toy Boxes Packed and Ready for 800 Children!

The distribution of toy boxes is well underway with nearly 10,000 toys prepared for the main packing day taking place this Saturday, 26th April.

800 children who have escaped domestic violence or abuse will soon receive their box full of toys. They flee to a women’s refuge or safe house at a moments notice with only the clothes on their back. The toy boxes bring fun and happiness to the children at the most crucial time and help settle them into their new homes.

On Wednesday 23rd April a group of KidsOut volunteers helped to prepare the thousands of toys for Saturday 26th April when the main packing day will take place with volunteers from the FedEx HQ helping to pack. Through the Toy Box Appeal, companies such as Kindness Offensive, Ravensden, Diglot Books and Aurora have donated many of the toys which were packed on the day. Both the pre and main pack at the FedEx Stansted depot will provide a fresh supply of new Toy Boxes to be distributed to children across the counrty”

As Gordon Moulds the Chief Executive of KidsOut says, “The number of children being taken in to women’s refuges or safe homes has steadily increased and the amount of toy boxes that KidsOut has sent out has more than doubled in the past few years; “We will be packing 800 boxes today and we send out between 1400-1500 for children who have had to escape their homes and flee to a women’s refuge.”

We would like to thank FedEx and all the volunteers for making this possible. We would also like to thank local supermarkets, Tesco and Waitrose for providing food for the day!
