Toy Box appeal has officially launched!

It’s the 3rd of December (yes I know, I couldn’t believe it either) and Christmas is fast approaching and Saturday the 30th November KidsOut’s saw our Toy Box appeal launch in the merriest way possible. The team of Mercure Cardiff Holland Hotel and Spa sported a state of the art digital grotto at The Capitol shopping centre for a day of festive fun.

Sharon Adams from the hotel and Spa described the day as “a hoot” – a light-hearted event that will give back to the less fortunate this Christmas. KidsOut ambassador Neil Brierley also joined the team between 12 and 1pm to mark the day as part of our Toy Box appeal, and to add to the revelries, everyone who came and dropped off a toy was then entered to win a luxury weekend away at the Mercure London Bridge hotel (London). 

The Hotel and Spa also had plenty of complimentary mulled wine and mince pies on offer, so everyone was truly indulging in the Christmas cheer, whilst boogieing on down to an Elvis impersonator – everything you could wish for (minus the indigestion).

The Toy Box appeal is there to support the less fortunate children this Christmas, to make sure no one goes without. The toys will be given to disadvantaged children, most who have had to flee domestic violence – both this Christmas and the forthcoming year, and are left with very little. The Toy Box works by bringing stability and familiarity back into their lives, so all donations are very much appreciated. Sharon Adams added “Three little kids came in with presents they’ve bought with their pocket money which was so touching”.
