KidsOut were thrilled to welcome football legend Kevin Keegan as quiz master alongside presenter Jonny Gould as evening host. There were more special guests in attendance, with a range of past and present stars from Bristol City F.C. and Bristol Bears. A big thank you to the following for your support: Pat Lamb, Alan Morley, Nigel Pomphrey, Chris Booy, Martin Griffiths, Mark Tainton, Mark Ashton (CEO), Marley Watkins, JoJo Wollacott, Zac Vyner, Nathan Hughes, Steven Luatua, Ian Madigan, Luke Morahan, and Charles Piutau. Congratulations to Vectos (South) Limited and Bradwells Construction who won the Champions League and Europa trophies respectively. Both teams were well-deserved victors of the interactive sports quiz!

In addition to the main quiz, guests could take part in a raffle and two auctions. There were some fantastic items up for grabs in the silent auction and main auctions, including a table of twelve with hospitality for either a Bristol City F.C. or Bristol Bears home game, the chance to “buy” the Managing Directors of Taylor Wimpey and Barratt Homes for the day, a children’s party at Swoon Gelato, luxury artwork by Rob Bishop, and Four tickets to Wales Autumn internationals vs New Zealand. Perhaps the most exclusive item on sale was a one-of-a-kind painting by Britain’s top live painter Ben Mosely of Bristol’s iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge. The artwork was produced on the night and finished just before the main auction! Ben is a rising star in the art world and has recently been selected as the official artist for Team GB at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The KidsOut team are sure the winners of the charity raffle and auctions will enjoy their fabulous prizes.

Event Chairman and KidsOut Trustee Chris Burton presents Osborne Clarke with the Bristol Company of the Year award

Event Chairman and KidsOut Trustee Chris Burton presents Osborne Clarke with the Bristol Company of the Year award

Each year KidsOut offer awards to people or companies for their outstanding support and contributions to the charity. This year’s award was presented to the event’s main sponsor Osborne Clarke for ‘Bristol Company of the Year’, in recognition of their tireless commitment to KidsOut’s work and mission.

KidsOut would like to say a huge thank you to the Gala’s event committee, as the Question of Sport event would not have been possible without their help and support. In particular, thank you to the event’s Chairman Chris Burton. The KidsOut team also wanted to thank the following sponsors of the event: Osborne Clark (main sponsor), Clarkson Evans (sub-contractor sponsor), GC Windows Limited (supplier sponsor), CJH Land Limited (land agent sponsor), Ashfords (keypads sponsors), and Clarke Willmott LLP (Silent Auction and Quiz sponsors). The money raised at this event will be used as vital funds to continue to supply Fun Days and Toy Boxes to disadvantaged children in the Bristol and the South West region, helping KidsOut bring fun and happiness to disadvantaged children who need it most. A special shout-out is also needed for all the fantastic volunteers from Osborne Clarke, Taylor Wimpey, and Barratt Homes. Their help was essential in ensuring the night was a complete triumph.

The date of the next KidsOut Bristol gala dinner is soon to be announced. Be sure to stay up-to-date with the charity’s social media channels for an official announcement soon!
