Giving Tree is back, with an online option for 2020!
Supporting survivors of domestic abuse who may not otherwise receive a gift at Christmas
Due to Covid-19, we have created the KidsOut online shop where you can choose and donate a present for a child in refuge.
KidsOut guarantees to provide that gift and deliver it to a child in refuge.
All items in the online shop are the most requested toys from children in refuge.
Don’t forget to also register your company via the online form that can be found below on this webpage.
“Thank you so much and please know your donations will be put towards making a child smile this Christmas.”- A refuge benefitting from Giving Tree 2019
Even if you and your colleagues are planning on donating a toy via the online shop, we recommend registering your place of work via our online form to ensure you receive updates and we can recognise your contribution!
You also use the button below to order physical Giving Tree tags with a child’s toy request to share with your family, friends, and colleagues.
Due to changing Covid-19 regulations, there will be limited collection points for those who register for physical tags where you can drop off your toys. We recommend couriering your toys directly to our KidsOut warehouse or donating through the online shop to guarantee your toys make it to refuge in time for Christmas (more details can be found via the button below).
What is the Giving Tree?
Designed to be a fun alternative to the traditional Secret Santa, Giving Tree is not only simple to get involved with but a fun exercise for the whole office!
KidsOut’s Giving Tree initiative invites firms and individuals to ‘Ditch Secret Santa’ and buy toys for children in local refuge homes instead. The recipients are children who have escaped domestic violence, being forced to flee their homes quickly and leave all possessions behind. Without Giving Tree, these children may not otherwise receive a gift at Christmas.
Even Covid-19 can’t stop the Giving Tree. This year we have created the KidsOut online shop where you can choose and donate a present for a child in refuge. KidsOut guarantees to provide that gift and deliver it to a child in refuge.
Anyone can take part and organisations are encouraged to advertise the opportunity to staff via their Intranet or email so that even if they are working from home they can still participate as if they were in the office.
How does it work?
Taking part is simple. Here are four easy steps explaining the Giving Tree shop process:
- Click Shop Now to be taken to the products pages
- Select the toys you would like to donate and purchase at the checkout. (Please note that the price charged includes some costs for distribution)
- You will receive confirmation of your order but it will not be delivered to you but instead will be delivered to KidsOut for distribution to a refuge.
- You will also be asked if you want to include Gift Aid on your donation.
Last year a record breaking 1,472 organisations signed-up to the Giving Tree – This resulted in over 23,000 toys being distributed to children in refuge.
