Family fun with the MK Dons

“It’s nice to think that the children had an enjoyable day,” said Alan Brandham, Central Bedfordshire councillor and KidsOut Chairman of Community Events. “Some of them probably hadn’t even been to a football match before.”

Thanks to the Milton Keynes Dons Football Club, 35 children and their carers were able to see them play versus Hull City. As part of their special Family Fun Day, the MK Dons were selling children’s tickets for £1, and hosted

“They had about 15,000 people at the match,” said Brandham. “There were thousands of children, and they all looked like they had fun. It was a tremendous day.”

The KidsOut team arrived early at the stadium to join more than 30 stalls in celebrating the Family Fun Day. Hosted by local businesses and organisations, the preliminary activities brought bouncy castles, a climbing wall and even a reptile display to children and parents before the match started at 3 p.m. Along with providing some games, KidsOut sold cuddly toys and managed to raise more than £220 for disadvantaged children. “We had a wonderful day,” said Brandham.
