Cost of living affects Charity’s income by nearly a third

Charities are amongst many of the organisations who have been affected by the cost-of-living crisis, and KidsOut have seen a drop in donations by nearly 30% this year.

The impact has sadly affected the amount of help given to children with the need to be as creative as possible with the smaller budget. Acting CEO of KidsOut, Sara Williams said, “We know that many people are struggling financially at the moment and sadly this coincides with more children than ever needing our support. I think the most moving donations are from those who tell us that they can’t afford to donate their usual £10 this year but still send us £5.”

She goes on to say, “We have lots of plans to extend our reach in 2024 so people hear about the work we do as we are often referred to as silent heroes. Whilst it’s a lovely description of the charity we are aware that modesty isn’t going to change children’s lives, many of whom have witnessed or experienced some of the most horrendous abuse, including sexual abuse. We are very interested in speaking to companies that will work with us, either by providing or sponsoring toys and books for the children, holding or sponsoring days out or events, or feel they can help in other ways.
