This summer, KidsOut offered a ‘Cinesummer’ scheme which involves offering free Odeon cinema ticket vouchers to disadvantaged children and young people nationally. Over 5000 children and young people, had a brilliant time seeing a film of their choice at cinemas across the UK!

A popular choice this summer for children was ‘The BFG ‘. One mother has said, “Well that was such a treat!  It was just so nice to go out as a family and enjoy a carefree day.  The boys enjoyed wearing their BFG ears and loved the movie”. A refuge worker has also said, “I have to add, it was amazing seeing  two recently arrived children opening up with their peers, but more importantly to see them laugh uncontrollably during the film was a real buzz”.

Finding Dory was also a favourite of the children – a boy from refuge said, “The best bit about today was I made a new friend!”. Another has also said, “Dory was my favourite , just keep swimming, just keep swimming!”. It is clear to see that the children had a wonderful time at the cinema. With parents also commenting, “”Wow thank you, we never get to go to the cinema as a family!”.IMG_4591

KidsOut are delighted to offer these free cinema tickets to a vast amount of disadvantaged children ranging from refuges, individual families, bereaved children, children with special needs and terminally ill children. This experience has truly put a smile to children’s faces and has filled theIMG_0186m with absolute happiness.
