Autumn visits to Kidzania

After previous successful trips, KidsOut organised more fun-filled days out for 216 disadvantaged children and their carers to the educational children’s world of KidZania in London in October and November 2018.Kidzania

KidZania, KidsOut’s charity partner, is a fun indoor city run by kids that acts as a learning environment designed for children aged four to fourteen. The children attending received a four-hour experience were they were able to explore over sixty real-life activities and test their skills in a variety of professions. The children gained an insight into the adult world by taking part in a choice of jobs which earned them “kidZos” (KidZania currency). Once they accumulated seventy-five kidZos, they could open their very own bank account, complete with a bankcard.

From the feedback we received, it appeared all that attended had a wonderful time:

It was great we had so much fun! Thank you for letting us go! It was awesome! I was dancing, and I was able to be a doctor and I could go to the shop. It was so good I want to go again!  A child

The best part was spending the day as a family doing activities together and not having to worry about costs. The children loved trying all the different activities and earning their KisZos to spend. – A mother

Kidzania 2These activities help create memories and fun times for children that have a lot that is going against them. Our children are still talking about the visit, it is something they will remember for a long time. Trips like this build their confidence, coping mechanisms, support their speech and help them have opportunities which are normally closed to them due to barriers and disadvantages they face. – A refuge worker

We look forward to working with our charity partner Kidzania over the coming months and also during the festive season. Thank you so much for your continued support and generosity!
