What We Do

Identifying and funding opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people

Projects

Multimedia On The Go

Launched in May 2006, this pilot project is a mobile music facility for young people in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

A long wheel base van has been converted as a recording studio, with the capacity to create music using computers, plus film and video, incorporating adaptive technology for the disabled, and packed with musical instruments.

The van will travel around the East Riding providing sessions for young people who do not have access to opportunities for music making - such as those living in rural areas, on fringe estates or those disadvantaged by poverty and /or disability.

The projects aims to provide activities that bring fun and happiness to young people by giving them the opportunity to be creative and reduce isolation by enabling something they can enjoy with their friends and which provides a focus for activities in their communities.

By increasing skills and, consequently, self confidence and self esteem, the project, over the longer term, aims to impact positively on the issues facing young people in disadvantaged circumstances.
