KidsOut is a growing charity that provides small financial grants for disadvantaged and special needs children up to the age of 18 for activities or equipment that will give them fun and happiness. This can include holidays (UK only), fun days out, residential trips, activities or play equipment.
Children and young people are regarded as being disadvantaged who do not have enough fun and happiness during their childhood. Some examples of disadvantage are those with physical or learning disabilities, serious or terminal illness, suffer from abuse or isolation through poverty and/or prejudice, young carers and siblings of those who are disabled or ill.
Currently, KidsOut is only accepting applications from individual families.
The child/children/young people must live in the United Kingdom and Eire.
All applications are judged on individual circumstances and merit. The application is considered by a Committee, which meets four times a year. The process can take 3 – 6 months.
KidsOut may fund part of the project, but can tell you of other organisations to whom you can apply to help raise all the funds.
Grant applications can be made once every two years only (KidsOut financial year July – June).
Subject to the availability of funds and the Committee’s decision, grants are considered once the information required by KidsOut is complete. There may be a delay in making decisions where we do not have all the information required.
