KidsOut Office-ial Tough Mudder

KidsOut staff members have decided to set the example this year and take part in their own sponsored event. Team KidsOut consists of six members of staff and three friends and family, who will be taking on the Henley-on-Thames Tough Mudder on the 7th May 2017. The group has a combined fundraising target of £2,500 for the charity, all going towards our children’s services.

The Tough Mudder course consists of 10-12 miles of mud and 28 obstacles, testing mental grit, camaraderie and all round physical fitness.

Team members taking part are:Basic RGB

Stewart Moulds, Director of Fundraising
Nick Burrows, Office Manager
Zoe Everatt, Assistant Fundraiser
Laura Cannicott, Events Manager
Ana Dario, Children’s Services Intern
Sapna Tanna, Children’s Services Intern

Stewart and Nick completed a Half Tough Mudder in 2016, raising £300 each for KidsOut. For the majority of the rest of the team, this is their first real test of physical fitness and strength and various levels of training are taking place in preparation.

Sapna is getting stuck into training – going to the gym five times a week, focusing on upper body strength and running. Zoe has joined a ‘Couch to 5k’ group in preparation, and takes part in weekly runs, having recently joined the Leighton Fun Runners. As Assistant Fundraiser, one of Zoe’s roles at KidsOut is to support others across the UK wishing to take part in marathons, half marathons and other sponsored events in aid of the charity. Zoe is excited about the challenge, saying: “I can’t expect strangers to run marathons for me if I don’t pitch in myself!”

Team KidsOut will also be joined by Aubergine, our neighbours and web-designers, who also took part in a Tough Mudder last year which raised a fantastic £1,000 for KidsOut! Team Aubergine will consist of Creative Director Mark Tomkins, Matthew Craft, Mark Nesbit and Paul Carter, and they are hoping to once again raise as much money for KidsOut as they can.
