Would you like to work for a national charity that supports over 50,000 children each year, whilst learning vital work skills during your university placement year?
KidsOut has an exciting opportunity for a university student to join us on their penultimate year placement, working for 12 months at our head office in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. We are easily accessible from Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Luton and surrounding areas.
KidsOut has a small, close team that works hard every day to provide positive experiences and opportunities for as many groups of disadvantaged children as we can. We are comprised of two main teams, Children’s Services, who facilitate the provision of our services (namely Fun Days, Toy Box and World Stories), and the Fundraising team who raise vital funds by putting on events and through other sources. Working as part of such a small team will give you the unique opportunity to gain wide-ranging experience in a fast-paced environment. As a key part of the team you will be given the opportunity to offer a large input and affect real positive change.

The Fundraising Assistants will be a key part of the team responsible for delivering the charity’s funding strategy. In this extremely varied role you will work with the fundraising team on a number of projects, which could be anything from assisting in the organisation of the KidsOut Colour Dash, to organising golf days, or delivering the Christmas giving initiative. The Events Assistant will be a vital part of the team responsible for organising the charity’s black tie corporate fundraising events throughout the country. This exciting role will involve liaising with regional committees, and working under the leadership of the Events Manager to bring the corporate events to fruition. Children's Services Assistant
The Children’s Services Assistants will be a key part of the team responsible for delivering the charity’s vital children’s services. In this role you could be responsible for assisting with our Toy Box Service, arranging and facilitating Fun Days, or delivery of the charity’s World Stories service. You will gain experience in the charity sector, in addition to developing your communication skills, organisational skills and correspondence and inter-personal skills. Assistant Business Manager
The Assistant Business Manager role will provide a varied and interesting background to all administrative roles, as well as office management. You will learn new skills and gain wide-ranging experience in a fast paced environment on a variety of jobs. You will take and receive payments and record & file information accurately. There will be an opportunity to help with real events as well as getting first-hand experience of fund raising events, children’s services and volunteering.
