KidsOut go on a climbing adventure!

On the 22nd of April, children and young people from the SAFE! Project had a fantastic rock climbing session at Oxford Rocks.

The feedback we received from SAFE! was absolutely brilliant. One children’s worker said:

“One child overcame their fear of heights. The children challenged themselves and were able to achieve more than they first believed. They met children who had experienced similar circumstances as they have. The trip enabled children to be taken out of vulnerable situations for a day. One boy has also said that he was now less worried about attending secondary school as it is easy meeting new people.”

Here are a few comments from the children who attended:

“This was the funniest day ever! I was a bit worried but I did it and now I want to do it again”

“I have made so many new friends and I even have a new crush who I want to marry when I am older!”

The mothers also had an exciting time at the climbing session. One mother commented:

“It is nice to see them laughing and having fun again. I can then have an easy day and a break. The children loved it so much that they cannot stop talking about their new friends.”

KidsOut are pleased that the children were able to create positive memories and enhance their self-esteem.

Take a look at some of the photos from the day!
