KidsOut brought a sprinkling of colour to Drayton Manor theme park last month with their first ever Colour Dash!dsc_1270

On Saturday 30th September, over 850 people descended upon Drayton Manor Theme Park for a 5K Fun Run where the aim of the game is to end up as colourful as possible!

dsc_1240Upon arrival guests collected their race pack, which included their ticket to the theme park, a t-shirt, race number and most importantly, a packet of colour powder to use later on!  Once registered guests were allowed entry to the race village, where they were entertained by guest DJ Extraordinaire Matt Bullock, AKA Social Command!  As the race start loomed, the anticipation grew as the crowd gathered around the stage.

Before the warm up started and the race began, all 850 participants gathered for the long awaited Colour Throw! If they had clean t-shirts before the colour throw they certainly didn’t afterwards; perfect timing for the race start after a warm-up lead by personal trainer Simon Durman!

Once on their way, participants had to make their way around a 5K course surrounding the theme park, which was interrupted by Colour Stations primed with volunteers ready to cover them in yellow, red, blue and then pink powder before crossing the finish line and receiving their medals!

KidsOut must thank Chris Adcock and Jill Johnson for all their hard work assisting the dsc_1293fundraising team to put the event together and coordinate on the day.  Huge thanks also go to the team at Drayton Manor for letting us descend upon their camp site and cover the venue in colour! Thank you so much to all of our fantastic volunteers made up of friends, family, supporters and members of local Rotary Clubs.  Without your fantastic help on the day the event would not have been possible.  Finally, the event could not have gone ahead without the support of our amazing main sponsor, Advanced Boardroom Excellence.

If you missed the event but want to find out what went on, you can see our amazing video right here:

Next year’s Colour Dash planning is already underway, keep your eyes peeled for announcements – we’ll make more news available to you when we have it!
