Festive Cinema Trips!
Over the course of the festive period, KidsOut were offering free ODEON cinema vouchers for children and their families to visit the cinema across the UK and see a film of their choice.
A total of 829 tickets were allocated to refuges and other groups throughout the UK. Some of the groups have provided us with some great feedback:
“Going to the cinema gives our children and young people the opportunity to be ‘normal, independent and to spend time with their peers’. For many of the children it was their first cinema experience! It helps them create memories which they fondly talk about and remember, which is important for them, they are able to share this with their family which helps build positive relationships. These activities really help us to include children and families due to lots of social issues and barriers they face such as living in poverty enjoy these experiences without having to worry about affording them or feeling scared to access activities on their own with a child who has challenging behaviours.”
One child told us that the “The trip to Odeon luxe was the best as I sat by my friends and watched something cool that was so interesting. The seats were just amazing and like nothing I have ever seen before. It was so comfortable and it was the best experience I have ever had!”
One child was enjoying the cinema experience so much he asked “Do you have any more popcorn?!”
We hope all those who have received tickets had a great time!
