1200 Toy Boxes from Hasbro!
Hasbro, one of KidsOut’s key supporters, have once again not only donated toys but packed them into Toy Boxes too!
Through the Toy Box service, KidsOut send a box of brand new toys to every child when relocated from refuge. This is often a frightening, lonely time for the child, when they are once again relocated from everything that is familiar and the family have to start from scratch. The parent’s finances are often tied to the essentials only, and therefore toys are rather far down the list of financial priorities. A box of toys can offer comfort to a child at this time, and this is one of the charity’s main services.
Hasbro are an extremely important supporter in this area. This week Hasbro have generously donated enough toys and volunteers to pack 1,200 toys into Toy Boxes ready to be sent to children who are relocated from refuge. The company’s fantastic efforts took place over 3 days at the end of last month, and Sandra Doherty, KidsOut’s Head of Children’s Services went over to Newport to support with the Toy Box packing. Sandra says
“I am always amazed to see the Newport team all come together for the most professional operation of toy box packing that I have ever seen! It is a testament to all the team at Hasbro that they can spare the time to get involved and help make a difference to the lives of children less fortunate that our own”.
KidsOut are extremely grateful for Hasbro’s generosity again with the Toy Boxes. Hasbro are long standing keen supporters of KidsOut, and huge thanks go to Donna Crook and Sarah Smith for organising the day, and for their continuous generosity to the charity.
